To Mr. Yona Kesse[1],

I greet and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 21/7 and I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for having taken the trouble to write to me what you remember of the life of my brother[2], may he rest in peace, all the more so as these memories were written with respect and affection. Should you recall additional details, please share them with me as well, for you will understand that every detail is particularly precious to me.

The sum you indicate at the end of your letter will surely not need to be paid all at once. It may be made available to you in several installments over a certain period. If that is indeed the case, I am hopeful of being able to finance it. Please specify the payment terms and address.

We have entered the period of consolations[3], following the period that is 'between the oppressions.' May Hashem therefore bring it about that henceforth there will be only joy and gladness for each one of us, within all of Israel, both materially and spiritually. With my respects and my blessing for success in all that concerns you.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מה-21/7, והנני מודה לו מקרב לב בעד טרחתו לכתוב לי אודות הזכור לו מפרשת חייו של אחי ע"ה, ובפרט שנרשמו הענינים ברגשי הוקרה וחיבה. ובודאי כשיזכור עוד פרטים ירשום גם אותם, כי כמובן יקר לי מאד כל פרט ופרט.

לכתבו בסיום מכתבו, בטח אין כל הסכום שכותבו נדרש בבת אחת, כי אם אפשר להמציאו לרשותו לחלקין במשך כמה פעמים, ואז תקותי קרובה לודאי שאוכל לסדר זה, ומטובו להודיעני באיזה אופן, על איזו כתובת וכולי.

כיון שנכנסנו לתקופת הנחמות לאחרי תקופת בין המצרים, יהי רצון שמכאן ולהבא יהי' אך ששון ושמחה לכל אחד ואחד מאתנו בתוככי כלל ישראל בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

בכבוד ובברכת הצלחה בעניניו ולכל לראש ניצול כשרונותיו ונסיונו במשך שנים רבות.
