Igrot Kodesh · Letter 9187

Volume 24 · Letter 157 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu

By the grace of Hashem,

14 Menachem Av 5726,
Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Tzvi Hirsch[1],

I greet and bless you,

I am replying to your letter along with what was enclosed[2]. At a propitious moment, the names of those you mention will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, in accordance with what you write to me. May the merit of the Tzedakah*, for which I enclose a receipt, protect you in this matter.

Since everything is an effect of divine Providence, it is my duty and my merit to point out to you the usefulness and importance of disseminating the teaching of Chassidus*, and of not being content with studying it only personally. It must be spread, and if this obligation falls upon every individual, how much more so does it apply to those who exercise influence within their community. And we have been given the assurance that words that come from the heart enter the heart of the one who hears them and take effect there[3]. With my blessing that you give me good news,

M. Schneerson,
