I greet you and bless you,
I have not had news of you for a long time, and that means all is well, I hope.[1] For now, here is what this letter is about. I would like to join the many who congratulate you on the occasion of your birthday and wish you long days and good years. With my respects and my blessing,
P.S.: From time to time I see what your pen produces in the press regarding the healing of the soul. To someone like you — especially considering what I recall of the discussion we had — it is surely unnecessary to recall that the healing of a Jewish soul depends on its attachment to the Torah, of which it is said: "It is our life and the length of our days," on its observance of the Mitzvot*, of which it is said:[2] "He shall live by them." If, for every person, physical health is linked to moral health, this is even more clearly emphasized, even more evident, for a Jew. If you have recently published books or pamphlets, you will doubtless send them to our library, in accordance with your favorable custom. I thank you in advance,

זה זמן רב לא שמעתי מכ', ותקותי שסימן הוא שהכל בסדר.
ועל של עתה באתי להשתתף ולהצטרף לקהל המברכים את כ' בקשר עם יום הולדתו, ולאחל לו אריכות ימים ושנים טובות.

נ.ב. מזמן לזמן יש לי הזדמנות לראות מפרי עטו במכתבי עתים בענינים הנוגעים לרפואת הנפש. ולדכוותי', ובפרט על פי השמור בזכרוני משיחתנו לפנים, למותר להדגיש שרפואת הנפש - בהנוגע לכל נפש בישראל - קשורה במידת ההתקשרות שלה לתורה, עלי' נאמר כי הם חיינו ואורך ימינו, ולקיום מצוותי', עליהם נאמר וחי בהם. ואם בכל אדם בריאות הגוף קשורה בבריאות הנשמה, הרי אצל יהודי הענין הוא מודגש ומובלט ביתר שאת.
אם פרסם לאחרונה איזה ספרים או קונטרסים וכדומה, בטח כמנהגו הטוב ישלחם לספרי' שלנו, ותודה מראש.
