To the young women of the Beit Rivka* seminary of Yerres*, France, may Hashem grant you long life,

I bless and greet you,

I received your greetings in their time with pleasure — your collective letter and your individual letters[1] — through the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and dedicates himself to communal needs, Rav C. A. Kazarnovski*[2]. He also informed me that he met with you and conversed with you. I was glad to learn of your eagerness in your studies and your conduct. Without doubt, you will not be content with the achievements of the past; you will advance from one stage to the next, in accordance with the injunction of our Sages[3]: "one ascends in the domain of holiness." From this day forward, and throughout this month of Adar Rishon in general[4], we are called upon[5] to intensify our joy. This injunction applies also to Jewish women and girls because, as our Sages say, "they too took part in the miracle"[6]. Now, a Commandment of the Torah is also a force instilled to put it into practice — a possibility that is granted. May Hashem therefore bring it about that it be so for each of you, in all domains of good, both materially and spiritually. As you request, I will mention the name of each of you at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, so that the wishes of your heart may be positively fulfilled. With my blessing of success, and for bringing me good news,

ברכה ושלום!

בנועם קבלתי בשעתו פ"ש מהן, ומכתביהן הכללי והפרטיים, על ידי הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ וכו' הרש"א שי' קזרנובסקי, שמסר לי ג"כ ע"ד פגישתו ודיבורו אתן, ושמחתי לשמוע מהתקדמותן בלימודן ובהנהגתן. ובודאי לא יסתפקו בהישגים שבעבר וילכו מחיל אל חיל, כציווי חכמינו ז"ל מעלין בקודש, שהרי כל עניני טוב וקדושה אין-סופיים הם, ותמיד יש מקום להטבה העדפה והידור.

כיון שבהשגחה פרטית נתעכב המענה עד ראש-חודש שנצטוינו להרבות בשמחה מכניסתו (וגם אדר א' בכלל), והציווי הרי הוא גם לנשי ובנות ישראל, כהודעת חכמינו ז"ל, אף הן היו באותו הנס, וציווי התורה פירושו נתינת-כח ואפשריות למלאותו - יהי רצון שכן יהי' לכל אחת ואחת מהן, בכל מילי דמיטב בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

כבקשתן אזכיר כל או"א על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע למילוי משאלות לבבן לטובה.
