I greet and bless you,

I am replying to your letter of this Tuesday, in which you tell me that you have a permanent position in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, but you are now being offered a position as a Shochet* in Melbourne. You outline for me the reasons that argue in favor of this position. First of all, a decision must be made by a Rav* who rules on Halacha*, in order to determine whether you have the right to leave the Holy Land and settle abroad, since this offer has a permanent character[1].

Nevertheless, one point seems essential. This offer is for 8/1, that is, in six months. In the meantime, the situation in the Holy Land and conditions there[2] may change. The question of your departure from Eretz Yisrael* could then be raised again. Nevertheless, all is the result of divine Providence, and in the present case, I therefore have the obligation and the merit to emphasize to you the necessity of also setting a fixed time for the study of the inner dimension of the Torah*, which, in our generation, has been revealed through Chassidut*. Various texts establish how indispensable this is[3]. With my blessing that you give me good news of all this,

במענה למכתבו מיום השלישי, בו כותב אודות אשר יש לו משרה קבועה באה"ק ת"ו, ועכשיו הציעו לפניו לקבל משרת שוחט במעלבורן וכו' ומבאר הטעמים לחיוב בזה.

הנה לכל לראש, צריך להיות פסק דין של רב מורה הוראה בהשאלה דיציאה מאה"ק ת"ו לחו"ל, כיון שהצעה האמורה היא למשרה קבועה וכו',

אלא (ולכאורה גם זה עיקר), כיון שהמדובר הוא, ככתבו, לאחרי 1/8, ז.א. בעוד כחצי שנה, הרי אפשר שישתנה המצב באה"ק ת"ו והתנאים שם, ובמילא יהי' מקום לברר עוד הפעם שאלה האמורה (בענין היציאה לחו"ל).

וכיון שהכל בהשגחה פרטית, עלי החובה (והזכות) לעוררו על ההכרח להיות לו גם קביעות עתים בלימוד פנימיות התורה, שבדורנו נתגלתה בתורת החסידות, וכמבואר ההכרח בזה בכ"מ.
