I greet and bless you,

You have informed me of your engagement and here is my reply[1]. May Hashem cause it to be at a good and auspicious moment, may you build an eternal edifice* in full accordance with the law of Moses and Israel*, and may you merit building a home in Israel* in the spirit of Torah* and Mitzvot* — a home of which it is said: "You shall set up the Tabernacle according to its law." May you establish it on firm foundations and conduct it with joy and with a good heart.

As I always emphasize: the cornerstone of a Jewish home is Taharat HaMishpacha* — family purity — and this is the source of blessing and joy for the entire household. Please ensure to study the relevant laws carefully before the wedding, both you and your future wife.

Furthermore, you should fix regular times for Torah* study — both the revealed dimensions and, in our generation, the inner dimension as revealed through Chassidut*. This is the foundation of all else.

א) סדר הלימוד עד החתונה - לכל לראש הלכות הצריכות ומתחדשות מעת הנישואין. בחסידות - מאמרי עבודה. בשאר הזמן - בהתייעצות עם המשפיע שי'.

ב) כיוון ההסתדרות לאחרי החתונה - באופן שיוכל לקבוע עתים בלימוד התורה ככל הדרוש.

ג) תיקון בהנוגע לתפילין - בקיאות בהל' תפילין (הצריכות) נוסף על העיקר: קבלה טובה על להבא וחרטה גמורה על העבר.
