By the grace of Hashem,

I greet and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 8 Nissan*[1]. On the occasion of the approaching festival of Matzot*, the time of our freedom — for us and for all Israel, for the good — I hereby express to you my blessing that it be kosher* and joyful, for a true freedom, to be free of all material worries and all spiritual worries, of all that stands in the way of the service of Hashem with joy and enthusiasm.

Afterward, this freedom and this joy will be maintained throughout the year, all the more so as the service of Hashem, as defined by our Torah, Torah of life, applies to everything that concerns a person, throughout the day and the night, as it is said[2]: "In all your ways, know Him." With my blessing on the occasion of the festival,

I thank you for your blessings[3] and our holy Torah has already said[4] that: "I will bless those who bless you" — this blessing emanating from Hashem, the Source of blessings, so that its interest exceeds its principal[5].

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מח' ניסן.

ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל

לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח - מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה.

ובפרט שעבודת השם, כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, הרי היא בכל עניני האדם ובמשך כל היום וכל הלילה, וכמו שנאמר בכל דרכיך דעהו.
