By the grace of Hashem,

To the students of the senior Yeshiva* of Melbourne,
May Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received(1) your request, which will be read, at an auspicious moment, near the holy tomb(2). We have lived through extraordinary days — days in which the hand of Hashem was revealed to all, through the miraculous victory in the Land of Israel*. These events are a powerful call to every Jew: to reflect, to return, and to strengthen his commitment to Torah* and Mitzvot*.

As students of a Yeshiva* — and a Chabad* Yeshiva* at that — you bear a special responsibility. You study the Torah* of our Rebbe*(3) — the inner dimension of the Torah* — and you must embody its teachings in your daily lives. The goal of learning Chassidus* is not merely intellectual; it is transformative. It must change how you think, how you speak, and how you act.

The period of bein hazmanim* — vacation between terms — is not a time for the abandonment of Torah* study. On the contrary: it is a time to consolidate what has been learned, to reflect on one's progress, and to prepare for the next period of study with renewed energy and commitment. One who uses this time wisely returns to his studies refreshed and strengthened.

I also urge you to use this period to reach out to other Jews in your community — to share with them something of what you have learned, to strengthen their Jewish identity and observance. This is part of your mission as students of a Chabad* Yeshiva*.

With blessings for success in Torah*, in Chassidus*, and in spreading the light of Judaism,

תלמידי הישיבה הגדולה מלבורן ה' עליהם יחיו

שלום וברכה!

נתקבל הפ"נ שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק'.

בבואנו מימי הגאולה י"ב-י"ג תמוז, בו יצא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא ישראל ממאסרו במדינת מולדתו, שהי' חבוש שם בעד עבודתו הכבירה להחזקת והפצת התורה והמצוה, למרות רדיפת הדת שהיתה שם אז במרום שיאה.

ובחסדי השי"ת יצא בנצחון, שהרי אלה שאסרוהו הם ששיחררוהו.

וכמו שכתב כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, היתה גאולתו לא רק גאולה פרטית כי אם גאולה ונצחון לכל עניני היהדות, שלכן יום סגולה הוא לכל בני ובנות ישראל באשר הם שם, ובפרט - לאלה ההולכים בדרכיו ומשתתפים בפעולותיו ומוסדותיו.

ואם בכל שנה ושנה כך, על אחת כמה וכמה בשנה זו, שהיא שנת הארבעים לגאולתו, וכידוע הוראת חכמינו ז"ל שתקופת ארבעים שנה מוסיפה הבנה בעומק דעת הרב וכו'.

וכמו כל ענין של זכרון בתורה וביהדות, הכוונה היא שהזכרון יעורר את המעשה בפועל ברוח הימים הנזכרים והנעשים, ובנוגע לחג הגאולה ההוראה והמסקנה המידית היא, שאם במדינה ההיא ובזמן ההוא ובתנאים ההם יכול יהודי לעשות ולפעול בעד החזקת והפצת התורה והמצות, מכש"כ וק"ו במדינות ובתנאים נוחים וטובים שלא בערך.

ויהי רצון שיעשה כל אחד ואחת מאתנו, בתוך כל אחב"י שי', בכל האמור מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב.

בברכה לבשורות טובות מהתמדתם הרבה בלימוד הנגלה והחסידות והצלחתם בזה ובכלל
