To the attention of the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears
Hashem and dedicates himself to communal needs,
the Rav Yitzchak Moshe Shehibar*, of pure Sephardic lineage,
Grand Rabbi of the Sephardic community of Buenos Aires*,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter with pleasure and I bless you and your entire community with all good.

With regard to the matters you raise: the question of Jewish education in your community is of the utmost importance. The foundation of the entire edifice is the education of the young generation. If the children receive a proper Jewish education — one that encompasses both Torah* knowledge and the observance of Mitzvot*, and that instills in them a love of Hashem and of their Jewish identity — then everything else will follow naturally. But if the foundation is weak, no subsequent effort will suffice to repair the damage.

I therefore urge you, with all the strength at my disposal, to invest maximum effort in strengthening the Jewish educational institutions in your community. This is not merely a communal responsibility — it is a divine mission. The Sephardic tradition, with its rich heritage of Torah* scholarship, piety, and Jewish practice, is a treasure that must be transmitted in its fullness to the next generation.

With regard to the specific questions you raise about synagogue practice and communal organization — these are matters that should be addressed in consultation with the local rabbinical authorities who are familiar with the details of the situation. I trust in your wisdom and experience to guide the community well.

May Hashem bless you and your community with all good — in Torah*, in Mitzvot*, and in material prosperity — and may you see the fruits of your labor in the flourishing of Jewish life in Buenos Aires.

יהי רצון שהארוע יתקיים בהצלחה ויגשים את כל הציפיות ועוד
יותר.
ראש חודש סיון -זמן כתיבת מכתב זה -הוא היום שבו בני ישראל
באו להר סיני ,מאוחדים כולם ברעיון אחד וברגש אחד לקבל את התורה
הקדושה ,כפי שחכמינו זכרונם לברכה מסבירים את הפסוק בתורה :ויחן
שם ישראל )כולם כאיש אחד בלב אחד( נגד ההר .כי הדבר היחיד
שמקשר ומאחד ומחיה את כל היהודים ,בכל מקום ובכל הזמנים ,הוא
התורה הקדושה ,תורת חיים ,והמצוות שלה ,שעליהן כתוב וחי בהם.
וזהו גם תוכן ומטרת הארוע שלהן ,המאחד את הנשים כאן עם
אחיותיהן בארצנו הקדושה ,ביצירת האמצעים לסייע לכמה שיותר בנות
יהודיות לקבל חינוך־תורני אמיתי ,לקבל את התורה ולחזק ולהפיץ תורה
ומצוות ,שכידוע ,לנשי ובנות ישראל יש בכך תפקיד וחידוש מרכזי וחיוני.
