By the grace of Hashem,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rabbi…
and to his wife, Mrs…,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letters in due time and my response was delayed because I first wanted to assess the current situation in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt. According to the correspondence I have received, including what arrived today[1], your son's state of mind does not tend at all toward interest in the match proposals being offered to him. He prefers to continue studying, for a while longer, our holy Torah*, Torah of life, with enthusiasm and ardor. It is clear that, at all times and particularly in our era, there is no reason to exert pressure, in this matter, on young men of your son's age — this is entirely obvious.

The merit of your son's enthusiasm and ardor in the study of Torah, of which one can surely say[2]: "Great is study that leads to action," to the Mitzvot* one puts into practice in the best manner, will protect you so that the wish of your heart be positively fulfilled — in particular that you be in good health and earn a comfortable livelihood. With my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

כהאמור, וק"ל.

וזכות התמדת ושקידת בנם שי' בלימוד התורה, שבודאי יהי' באופן דגדול לימוד שמביא
לידי מעשה, קיום המצוות בהידור, יעמוד להם למילוי משאלות לבבם לטובה, כולל בריאות
נכונה ופרנסה טובה.
