I greet you and bless you,

I am replying to your letter of the third day of Chol HaMoed Sukkot*. Sometimes, circumstances such as those you describe stem from a lack of precision in observing the laws and principles of family purity — the status of Niddah*, the purity examination, the ritual immersion in a properly constructed Mikveh*. Since a lack of knowledge is the source of imperfect practice, you must verify all these details with a Rav* who rules on Halacha* and observe them in the future to the full extent of what is necessary. If this is not the case for you[1], you will endeavor, as much as possible[2], to ensure that others put all of this into practice.

במענה למכתבו מיום ג' דחוהמ"ס,

כיון שלפעמים מקרים כאלה שכותבם באים מחסרון דיוק בשמירת חוקי ודיני טהרת המשפחה (נדה, הפסק טהרה, טבילה במקוה כשרה וכו') וכיון שחסרון ידיעה מביא לחסרון בקיום עליהם לברר אצל רב מורה הוראה כל הפרטים בזה ועל מנת לשמור עליהם מכאן ולהבא ככל הדרוש. ובאם אין זה שייך כבר אצלם – להשתדל ביותר שאחרים יקיימום . . .
