[Chol HaMoed Sukkot*]

To the participants in the second Hakafot* of the holy city of Jerusalem[1], may it be restored and rebuilt very soon and in our days by our righteous Moshiach*,

I share in your joy, which is our joy, being at a geographic distance but close in spirit and united with you through my soul[2]. I send you my wishes, my prayer and my blessing, that the joy be twofold — the joy of Israel in the Torah and the joy of the Torah in Israel[3].

May Hashem therefore bring it about that Jerusalem, "the city in which all unite"[4] — the Old City and the New — be in accordance with its appellation and its essence, uniting the old and the new, the ancient and the recent, in every aspect of the life of its inhabitants — in fulfillment of the promise of the Eternal, Hashem, Hashem of Israel and King of the earth, that: "You shall dwell in security upon your land, and I shall grant peace in the land. I shall be your Hashem and you shall be My people. I shall lead you with your heads held high"[8],

כבוד המשתתפים בהקפות שניות בירושלים עיר הקודש תבנה ותכונן במהרה בימינו על ידי משיח צדקנו.

הנני משתתף בשמחתם שמחתנו אף כי בריחוק מקום אבל מתוך קרוב ברוח והתיחדות בנפש,

בצירוף איחולי תפילתי וברכתי, אשר תהי' השמחה כפולה, שמחת ישראל עם התורה ושמחת התורה עם ישראל.

יהי רצון שירושלים שחוברה לה יחדיו העתיקה והחדשה תתאים לשמה כפירוש חכמינו ז"ל – יראת שמים שלימה. ויקויים היעוד הפנימי כי מציון תצא תורה ודבר ה' מירושלים ויתגלה לעין כל שירושלים חוברה לה יחדיו ירושלים שלמטה עם ירושלים שלמעלה .

בכבוד רב ובברכה שתומשך שמחת התורה הכפולה בכל השנה ושתהי' שנת קיום הבטחת ה' אלוקי ישראל מלך כל הארץ וישבתם לבטח בארצכם ונתתי שלום בארץ והייתי לכם לאלקים ואתם תהיו לי לעם ואולך אתכם קוממיות.
