To Mr. Yehoshua Davidovitch,

I greet you and bless you,

I was pleased to receive your greetings through Mrs. Rachel Dunin[1], and I was particularly happy to learn that you welcome with benevolence all who consult you, and that in particular you devoted all your attention to Mrs. Dunin[2].

It is well known that the love of one's neighbor, especially when it finds expression in concrete action, is one of the foundations of our Torah, the Torah of life — particularly as explained and emphasized by Chassidut*[3]. May Hashem therefore grant that for many more years you be able to do good for our brothers, the children of Israel, with joy and enthusiasm.

Moreover, we have just experienced the time of our joy[4], whose conclusion was Simchat Torah*. Now, the purpose of each festival is to deliver a teaching[5], to instill an increased strength to perform good deeds in the spirit and according to the content of that festival, throughout all the days that follow.

בנועם קבלתי פ"ש מכ' על ידי מרת רחל תחי' דונין, ובמיוחד נהנתי לשמוע שמסביר פנים לכל הפונים אליו ועל תשומת לבו למרת דונין בפרט.

וידוע שאהבת ישראל, ובעיקר במעשה בפועל, ה"ה מיסודי תורתנו תורת חיים, ובפרט על פי המבואר ומודגש בתורת החסידות. ויהי רצון שרבות בשנים יוכל לעשות טובות לאחינו בני ישראל, בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ובפרט שבאים אנו מזמן שמחתנו וסיומו בשמחת תורה, שענין כל יום-טוב הוא לקחת לימוד ותוספת כח לפעולות טובות ברוחו ובתכנו של היום-טוב לכל הימים הבאים לאחר זה.
