To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Yitzchak Strasberg,

Jerusalem, may it be restored and rebuilt,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter with delay. You inform me of your current position and of the proposal being made to you to become director of the Bikur Cholim* hospital. In general, this proposal of a new position is judicious. Nevertheless, your letter does not clearly indicate what the financial conditions are, including retirement rights. Another essential point: is this a firm proposal, that is to say, certain and not merely a trial? If both these points are satisfactory[1], it is indeed good for you to pursue this new proposal.

All is an effect of divine Providence. I therefore have the duty and the merit to emphasize to you the necessity of also studying the deeper dimension of the Torah*, which in our era has been revealed through Chassidut*. I have good hope that at least in the future you will have a regular daily study session in this area. With my blessing,

באיחור זמן נתקבל מכתבו, בו כותב על דבר משרתו עתה ואודות ההצעה למשרת מנהל ביה"ח "ביקור חולים".

והנה בכלל ההצעה למשרה החדשה נכונה היא, אלא שלא ברור ממכתבו בנוגע התנאים הכספיים במשרה החדשה, כולל ענין הפנסי' וכולי, ועוד ועיקר אם מבוססת היא, זאת אומרת אם המשרה החדשה בטוחה היא ולא בתור נסיון. ובאם שני הפרטים האלה בסדר, כדאי שיתענין בהצעה החדשה.

כיון שכל ענין הוא בהשגחה פרטית, כאן עלי החובה והזכות לעורר על ההכרח ללמוד גם פנימיות התורה, שבדורנו נתגלתה בתורת החסידות, ותקותי שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יהיו לו שיעורים קבועים בזה בכל יום ובהוספה ביום השבת קדש.

מהנכון לבדוק התפלין והמזוזות אם לא נבדקו משך י"ב חודש.
