By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter[1]. Today is the date of the liberation of the Admor HaEmtzai* and we are a few days before that of the Admor HaZaken*, that is to say, in a period that must prepare for that liberation, as indicated in particular by the well-known 10 Kislev* discourse[2] of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*.

These two dates are also those of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, a liberation that unfolds precisely in peace[3]. And one knows the explanation given by the Admor HaZaken*[4] himself: when he read, in the book of Tehillim*, the verse[5]: "He has redeemed my soul in peace," even before beginning the next verse, I was redeemed in peace by the Hashem of peace.

Commenting on this verse, which appears in the Tehillim* read on this day both according to the weekly and monthly divisions, our Sages say[6]: "The Holy One Blessed Be He declares: If someone dedicates himself to Torah*, good deeds, and prays with the community, I will consider it as if he has redeemed[7] Me and My children from among the nations of the world."

May Hashem therefore cause each person, within all of Israel, to be strengthened in the three areas[8] just mentioned: Torah* study, good deeds and Mitzvot* in general[9], and fervent prayer. All of this[10] will bring about that the Holy One Blessed Be He, so to speak, be redeemed — and together with Him, all of Israel.

שלום וברכה!

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבם . . .

ובעמדנו ביום גאולת אדמו"ר האמצעי וימים ספורים לפני יום גאולת אדמו"ר הזקן, שהם גם ימי הכנה ליום זה, וכמובן בפרט משיחת יו"ד כסלו הידועה (של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר) –

אשר שתיהן הן גאולתינו ופדות נפשינו, פדי' בשלום דוקא ,

וכידוע בביאור דברי אדה"ז אשר כשקרא "בס' תילים פסוק פדה בשלום נפשי קודם שהתחלתי פסוק שלאחריו יצאתי בשלום מה' שלום",

יהי רצון אשר מתאים לדרשת רז"ל בכתוב זה (שהוא מהשיעור תילים דיום זה – החדשי והשבועי): אמר הקב"ה כל העוסק בתורה ובגמ"ח ומתפלל עם הציבור מעלה אני עליו כאילו פדאני לי ולבני מבין אומות העולם,

יתחזק ויוסיף כאו"א, בתוככי כלל ישראל, בשלשה קווין האמורים: בעסק התורה, בעסק גמ"ח (ומצות בכלל) ובעבודת התפלה –

מוארים באור תורתן של הנ"ל – תורת החסידות ובחיות ובפנימיות ,

ולקרב עיכ"ז קיום היעוד – כדרשת רז"ל עה"כ (בשיעור החומש דיום זה) ויזרח לו השמש

שאמר לו הקב"ה ליעקב שהוא סימן לבניו כי הנה היום בא גו' וזרחה לכם יראי שמי שמש צדקה ומרפא בכנפי',

יום פדיית הקב"ה ובניו,

יום ה' הגדול והנורא, יום גאולתנו ע"י משיח צדקנו בקרוב ממש.
