To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Avraham Gad[1],

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 23 Cheshvan*, as well as the previous correspondence. I thank you wholeheartedly for having conveyed these tidings from our Holy Land* and for having shared all of this with me.

We are in the auspicious days that fall between the 10th and the 19th of Kislev*. You surely know the significance of these fundamental events in this historical period. May Hashem therefore cause that you be able to give me good news in all the areas you mention, particularly the one appearing at the end of your letter, and that everything relating to light and clarity — which are the content of Chanukah*, the conclusion of this month[2] — be strengthened day by day. Greeting you and wishing you all good[3],

הריני מאשר את קבלת מכתבו מכ״ג חשון ,וכן גם את ההתכתבות

הקודמת .הנני מודה לו לבבית על מסירת פרישות-שלום בארצנו הקדושה

ועל שדיווח לי על כך.

בעמדנו בימי סגולה ,בין י׳ וי״ט כסלו ,שודאי מכיר את משמעות

המאורעות באותם ימים היסטוריים ,יעזור השי״ת שיוכלו לבשר בשורות

טובות בכל הענינים אודותם כותב ,בפרט בענין שמזכיר בסיום מכתבו,

ואשר מיום ליום יתחזקו כל הענינים של אור ואורה ,שהרי זהו תוכן ימי

חנוכה בסיום החודש.
