By the grace of Hashem,

17 Kislev* 5728,
Brooklyn, New York,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and dedicates himself to communal needs,
Rav Yosef Garelik, Montreal,

I greet you and bless you,

I heard from you with pleasure and learned that, upon returning to Montreal, you conveyed my greetings, particularly at the Chassidic* gathering of 10 Shevat*, and moreover that you did so with enthusiasm and joy.

May Hashem cause you to always bring joy to Jews and, of course, to the members of your family, so that they may be happy in all areas, materially and spiritually. Indeed, among Jews these two dimensions are linked and, furthermore, when the situation is joyful in spiritual matters, Hashem grants success also in material concerns. To someone who is originally from Babruysk*[1], there is surely no need to say more.

May Hashem cause you to accomplish all of this in an ever-increasing manner, as taught by the lights of Chanukah*, since one additional candle is lit each day[2]. Wishing you a joyous festival of liberation[3] and a luminous Chanukah*, as well as hoping to receive good news from you concerning all of this,
