Igrot Kodesh · Letter 9418
Volume 25 · Letter 40 · To: paragraphe 2.
By the grace of Hashem,
Eve of Chanukah* 5728,
Brooklyn, New York,
I greet you and bless you,
I have duly received your letter of the Thursday of Parshat Vayetzei*[1]. As we discussed during your visit here, I am convinced that the decision concerning the organization of your son's studies and everything related to it depends on your son himself and on what he wants to do. As I told you at the time, this is not only for his own good, but also for the good of all his loved ones. Indeed, he is at an age at which it would make no sense to issue him a directive in this matter.
Hashem grants His divine Providence to each person. He will therefore bless you in all your needs and, above all, in what is particularly important — the true and Jewish satisfaction that your son brings you. He will do so in ever-increasing measure, in the spirit of the lights of Chanukah*, since we light one additional candle each day[2]. With my respects and blessing,
