To the distinguished and agreeable Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Moshe Avraham[1],

I greet and bless you,

I reproduce here the text of the telegram that the Rabbi Shlita* was good enough to send you today:

"In response to your telegram and following up on the discussion we had here, although you did not ask me my position, I told you that, based on what I know, it is clear that a world assembly of synagogues[2] will face broad opposition. I was deeply pained to see that, despite this, the action in this direction continued.

My position on this matter is negative, even if it does not take place in Jerusalem. It is based on the total rejection by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, in a similar case. I conclude with pain on this subject, imploring divine mercy,

במענה למברקו, בשיחתנו כאן, ואף שלא שאלני לעמדתי, אמרתי לכבודו שלפי ידיעותי ברור שכינוס עולמי דבתי כנסיות יפגש בהתנגדות גדולה, ונצטערתי רבות שלמרות זה נמשכה הפעולה באופן זה. עמדתי שלילית בזה. ואפילו אם יהי' לא בירושלים, מיוסדה בעמדתו השלילית בהחלט דכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בכיוצא בזה.

החותם בכאב על שמר בהענין והמצפה לרחמי שמים.
