By the grace of Hashem,

To the great Rav, distinguished and pleasant Chassid* who fears Hashem, dedicates himself to communal needs, of multiple achievements and fine conduct, possessed of good knowledge, Rav Immanouel, known as Doctor Jakubovitch, Chief Rabbi of London,

I greet you and bless you,

I received, with delay, your letter and what was enclosed with it, which I will consult, without making a vow, when I have free time.

The days of Purim* are approaching and may Hashem bring it about that "in these days" it be as "at that time," so that "for the Jews there was light, joy, gladness and honor"[1] — both in the simple sense and as our Sages explain.[2] According to our formulation,[3] we will bring one redemption close to another, and may Hashem cause us all to merit the true and complete redemption, through our righteous Mashiach*, very soon. With my respects and blessing so as to give me good news,

ובעמדנו לפני ימי הפורים, יהי רצון אשר כמו שהי' בימים ההם כן בזמן הזה יהי' ליהודים אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר, כפשוטו, וכדרשת חכמינו ז"ל בזה.

ובסגנוננו לסמוך גאולה לגאולה, יהי רצון שנזכה כולנו יחד לגאולה האמתית והשלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו בקרוב ממש.
