To the attention of the distinguished Chassid*, chosen of the people, surpassing it, seeking the good of his people, of generous conduct, from an illustrious family, Rav Shneur Zalman,[1] Shlita*,

I greet you and bless you,

I hope that upon receipt of this letter, you will have already received my personal greetings through those who came here on a visit. I asked them to go and see you on my behalf and to convey to you my blessing of Mazal Tov*,[2] my warm wishes, as well as my blessing for a kosher* and joyous Pesach* festival.

I wish to reiterate in writing, in these days preceding the festival of Pesach*, the "time of our freedom," my blessing for a true liberation from all that stands in the way, so that you may serve Hashem in joy and enthusiasm. With my consideration, my respects and my blessing for a kosher* and joyous Pesach* festival,

I am aware of your enthusiastic and profound interest in the synagogue that was founded by the Tzemach Tzedek*,[3] within the walls of Jerusalem, may it be restored and rebuilt very soon and in our days, Amen. I therefore enclose a copy of my letter[4] addressed to the Chassidim* and Chabad* institutions of the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt.

Similarly, the teaching of the Tzemach Tzedek* that has just been published for the first time from the manuscript[5] has been sent to you under separate cover, on the occasion of his Hilloula*, 13 Nissan 5728, the one hundred and second[6] anniversary of his passing.

תקותי שלעת קבלת מכתבי זה כבר קבל פ"ש אישית ממני מאלו שבקרו כאן שבקשתים לבקר את מר בתור באי-כחי ולמסור לו ברכת מזל טוב ואיחולים לבביים, ביחד עם ברכת חג הפסח כשר ושמח.

ורצוני לכפול גם בכתב בימים אלה שלפני חג הפסח, זמן חרותינו, ברכתי לחירות אמתית מכל ענינים המבלבלים, כדי לעבוד את ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.
