Igrot Kodesh · Letter 9500
Volume 25 · Letter 122 · To: paragraphe 4.
By the grace of Hashem,
Eve of Rosh Chodesh* Sivan* 5728,
Brooklyn,
I greet you and bless you,
I hereby acknowledge receipt of the gift of your pure heart — the check you received in connection with what happened to your daughter[1], may Hashem grant her long life and may this not recur.
There is no need to describe the great merit that Tzedakah* constitutes. However, it is fitting to emphasize that it comes at its proper time — in these days preceding the giving of the Torah*, which concerns especially the children, may Hashem grant them good health. Indeed, it is known that before giving the holy Torah* to the entire people of Israel*, Hashem asked for a guarantee, attesting that the Torah* and the Mitzvot* would always be kept and cherished. The only one He accepted was the declaration: "our children shall be our guarantors"[2].
May Hashem cause you to receive broad Jewish and Chassidic* satisfaction from all your children, in good health and in abundance — material and spiritual. With my blessing to receive the Torah* with joy and in depth,
