To Mr. Yona Kessé[1],

I greet and bless you,

After a long interruption, I received with joy your letter of 3 Sivan. In the interim, of course, I have often heard news of you through our friend, Mr. Shlomo Maydanchik[2] and through other Chassidim* as well. It is evident that I am informed of the assistance you provide to the activities of Chabad* and Kfar Chabad*. Moreover, you do so with benevolence. Knowing you, I am aware that it is unnecessary to ask you to continue doing so in ever-increasing measure.

Upon reading your letter, I was particularly pleased to learn that you are once again devoting yourself to communal needs. As we discussed here, I hope this will bring the greatest benefit for yourself and for the community. In every place, one must make use of whatever influence one can exert in a positive and broad manner. How much more is this so in our Holy Land, and all the more in our era of confusion, the disappearance of boundaries and the loss of values. We addressed this point several times during our oral discussion.

Of course, the weight of responsibility can sometimes arouse terror and fear. Nevertheless, we have been given the assurance that every good and holy endeavor receives particular assistance and strength from He Who is the very Essence of goodness and holiness, the Holy One, blessed be He.

Accordingly, may Hashem cause the problem you describe at the beginning of your letter to disappear at last, in a fully satisfactory manner, and may Kfar Chabad* receive full capacity to fulfill its mission toward its surroundings, near and far, in peace of mind. And one will make use of this possibility and these strengths, according to the expression of our mother tongue[3]: "from good to better, and then to what is even better."

With my blessing for success in your endeavors, in accordance with all that has been said, both in your personal affairs and in your communal activities in the areas of Chabad*, in good health, in a favorable situation and with good organization,

שלום וברכה!

לאחרי ההפסק הארוך, שמחתי לקבל מכתבו מיום ג' בסיון, אף על פי שכמובן בינתים קבלתי פ"ש ממנו לעתים תכופות ע["י] ידידינו מר שלמה שי' מיידנצ'יק ואנ"ש אחרים. ומובן שמספרים לי ע"ד העזר שנותן לעניני חב"ד וכפר חב"ד, שנוסף על עצם העזר הרי עושה בסבר פנים יפות. ובידעי את מר, בודאי למותר לבקשו שימשיך כן ובאופן דמוסיף והולך.

שמחה מיוחדת היתה לי בקראי במכתבו ששוב נכנס בעסקנות ציבורית. ותקותי שכמו שדברנו פה, שיהי' באופן שיש לו תועלת מקסימלית בנוגע לעצמו ובנוגע לתועלת הציבור. שאם בכל מקום צריך להשתדל לנצל כל כח השפעה באופן הטוב ובמדה המלאה, על אחת כמה וכמה בארצנו הק', ומכל שכן בתקופתנו עת תהפוכות וטישטוש הגבולים ובלבול ערכין וכו', וכפי שדברנו בזה כמה פעמים בעת שיחתנו פא"פ.

מובן שלפעמים האחריות שבדבר יכולה להטיל אימה ופחד, אלא שהובטחנו אשר בכל דבר טוב וקדוש ניתן סיוע מיוחד ועזר מעצם הטוב והקדושה הקב"ה.

ויהי רצון שמתאים לכל האמור גם הבעי' אודותה כותב בתחלת מכתבו תיבטל סוף סוף באופן משביע רצון לגמרי, ותינתן האפשרות המלאה לכפר חב"ד למלא תפקידו בסביבתו הקרובה והרחוקה, מתוך מנוחת הנפש, ולנצל היכולת והכחות בנוסח מאַמע-לשון פון גוט צו בעסערס און נאָך בעסערס.

בברכה שיצליח בפעולותיו בכל הכתוב לעיל, בענינים הפרטים והצבוריים, עניני חב"ד, מתוך בריאות ומצב רוח טוב והסתדרות טובה.
