To the attention of Mr. Chaim* Zohar,

I greet and bless you,

I received, with some delay, your letter informing me that you are completing, in the coming weeks, your mission(1) in New York, and that you are returning to our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt.

I hereby express my warm wishes and blessings that your ascent to the Holy Land may also be an elevation in your communal activities — that is, an increase in all that depends on you in order to influence those near to you and even those far away. Perhaps one can even say that between two Jews there is never a distance that cannot be overcome. You will therefore ascend on the path leading to the House of Hashem — a life*(2) based on our Torah*, a Torah* of life*(2), and its Mitzvot*, of which it is said: "He shall live by them"(3). With my respects and my blessing, and to give me good news,

באיחור זמן קצת נתקבל מכתבו שבשבועות הקרובים מסיים שרותו בניו-יורק ועולה חזרה לאה"ק ת"ו.

ואביע בזה תקותי ואיחולי לבבי שעליתו לאה"ק ת"ו תהי' גם עלי' בפעולותיו בענינים הצבוריים, זאת אומרת עלי' בכל התלוי בו להשפיע בסביבתו הקרובה וגם הרחוקה, – ואם תמצא לומר, אין ריחוק אמתי בין יהודי ליהודי שאי אפשר להתגבר עליו – עלי' בדרך העולה בית א-ל, חיים על פי תורתנו תורת חיים ומצותי' עליהן נאמר וחי בהם.
