To the members of the board of directors(1) of the Tzemach Tzedek* synagogue(2), in the old city of the holy city of Jerusalem, may it be restored and rebuilt by our righteous Mashiach*, very soon and in our days,
may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet and bless you,

I delayed sending the letter of the days of liberation(3), enclosed herein, in the hope that I would at last receive news from you — that something had moved concretely in the matters that were discussed. Instead, reports from those who come from the holy city of Jerusalem, or who write from there, indicate that nothing has moved — that a bank account has not even been opened yet. Another report: certain committee members have not yet, as of now, seen the letter I addressed to this committee(4), written several weeks ago!

This letter and all these documents have therefore been addressed directly to the secretary, given his function, so that he may convene an urgent meeting, show all the committee members the enclosed letter and the preceding one, acknowledge receipt, and after this meeting, inform us of the outcome — in particular, how the requests set out in the enclosed letter will be addressed. I thank you in advance for this.

With my respects and my blessing of alacrity, and for Hashem to grant you success in restoring the Tzemach Tzedek* synagogue in the holy city of Jerusalem — very soon — and in anticipation of your good news,

עכבתי שילוח מכתבי מימי הגאולה – המצו"ב – בציפיתי שאולי סו"ס תתקבל ידיעה מהזזה ממשית בענינים הנידונים בו,

ותמורת זה – הידיעות (ע"י הבאים מירושת"ו וכן במכ') שאין הזזה (ואפילו "חשבון בנקאי" לא נפתח עדיין) ועוד חדשה – שיש מחברי הועד שע"ע לא ראו מכתבי להועד הנכתב לפני כו"כ שבועות!

ובהביא בחשבון תפקידו דמזכיר, נשלח מכ' זה והנ"ל ישר להמזכיר – למען יארגן אסיפה דחופה, יַראה לכאו"א מחברי הועד שי' מכ' המצו"ב וכן מכ' הקודם, יאשר תיכף קבלת מכ' אלו ולאחרי האסיפה – תוצאות האסיפה (כולל מילוי בקשותי במכ' המצו"ב). ות"ח מראש על כהנ"ל.
