By the grace of Hashem,

To all the participants in the gathering of the Chabad* women's and girls' organization, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, at Kfar Chabad*,
may Hashem grant you long life,

I bless and greet you,

I learned with pleasure that your fifth national gathering will take place, with Hashem's help, on the Sunday of Parshat Shoftim*, "you shall appoint judges and officers for yourself"(1), Rosh Chodesh* Elul*, the month of mercy(2) and good will, on the theme: "the crown of virtues is modesty"(3).

May Hashem therefore grant you success in being inspired to good deeds in this direction, illuminated by Chassidic* clarity and vitality, in order to strengthen modesty and to spread it among those near and far to you. For it is indeed the crown of glory of the daughters of Israel — each of them called a descendant of Sarah, of Rivkah, of Rachel, and of Leah. They are daughters of Israel in every place, and all the more so in the Holy Land: "the land toward which the eyes of the Eternal your Hashem are always directed, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year"(4). And the explanation of our Sages, who equate modesty with holiness, is well known(5).

This is the specific role of the Jewish woman, who is called: "mistress of the home"(6) — of the home of Israel, of the individual and of the community. Their reward is commensurate with their responsibility and their role, as the holy Zohar* specifies(7). The blessing will thus be revealed in the home and in the family: "the blessings above and the blessings below, wealth, children, and grandchildren."

An allusion to this is found at the beginning of this week's Parasha*. When each one, within all of Israel, puts into practice the words of the verse: "You shall appoint judges and officers for yourself," judgment will be rendered below and severity will depart above(8). We will then merit being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year. With my blessing for success in your work, and to give me good news of what has been said,

בנועם קבלתי הידיעה ע"ד הכנס הארצי החמישי שיערך אי"ה ביום הראשון דפרשת שופטים ושוטרים תתן לך, ראש חודש אלול הוא חודש הרחמים והרצון, ואשר נושא הכנס – עטרת המדות – צניעות .

ויהי רצון אשר חפץ ה' בידן יצליח להתעורר לפעולות טובות בכיוון האמור מוארות באור וחיות חסידותיים, בענין חיזוק הצניעות והפצתה בסביבתן הקרובה והרחוקה גם יחד, אשר היא עטרת תפארת בנות ישראל, שכל אחת מהן נקראת בת שרה רבקה רחל ולאה, בנות ישראל בכל מקום ועל אחת כמה וכמה בארץ הקדושה, ארץ אשר עיני ה' אלקיך בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה.

וידוע פירוש חכמינו ז"ל אשר צניעות הוא ענין הקדושה.

ותפקיד מיוחד בזה לאשה ישראלית הנקראת עקרת הבית , עקרת בית ישראל – היחיד והכלל. ובהתאם להאחריות והתפקיד כן גודל שכרן, וכמבואר בזוהר הקדוש , להמשיך הברכה בהבית והמשפחה – בברכאן דלעילא בברכאן דלתתא בעותרא בבנין בבני בנין (ברכות ממעל וברכות מתחת, עשירות בנים ובני בנים).

וברמז תחלת פרשת שבוע זה – כשתקיים כל אחת בתוככי כלל ישראל "שופטים ושוטרים תתן לך", דין למטה – בטל דין דלמעלה, וזוכים לכתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה.

בברכת הצלחה בעבודתן ולבשורות טובות בכל האמור,
