By the grace of Hashem,

To the students of Beth Rivka* of Casablanca,
may Hashem grant you long life,

I bless you and greet you,

I have received, with pleasure, your letter in which you request a blessing. I will therefore mention your names at the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, so that the wishes of your heart may be positively fulfilled in all the areas you mention.

Your success in your studies proves that you have absorbed the education of Beth Rivka. It is therefore surely unnecessary to point out to you the necessity of making an addition and knowing elevation in the domain of holiness, particularly regarding the fear and love of Hashem. As the Admor HaZaken*[1] explains, the author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, love of Hashem is the source of all two hundred and forty-eight Commandments* and fear of Hashem is the source of all three hundred and sixty-five Prohibitions*. Besides the essential aspect — fulfilling the divine Commandment to elevate oneself in holiness[2] — each addition to good and to the sacred also increases Hashem's blessing in all your needs, as well as in those of the members of your family. It is doubtless superfluous to remind you of the great merit and also the immense responsibility that falls upon you, since each of you is a descendant of our Mothers — Sarah, Rivka*, Rachel and Leah — who built the House of Israel.

We are in a propitious month, that of mercy[3] and good will. These days are therefore particularly favorable for making decisions and taking positive actions in the direction just defined. With my blessing for success, to give me good tidings, as well as to be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבם, בקשת ברכה – פ"נ, ואזכירם על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע למילוי משאלות לבבן לטובה בכל הענינים שכותבות.

כיון שהצלחתן בלימודיהן מראה שקלטו חינוך בית רבקה, בודאי למותר להדגיש גודל הצורך להוסיף ולהעלות בקדש, בפרט בעניני יראת שמים ואהבת השם, אשר כביאור רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשלחן ערוך, הנה אהבת השם היא שורש לכל רמ"ח מצות-עשה, ויראת השם היא שורש לכל שס"ה מצות לא-תעשה. ונוסף על העיקר – קיום ציווי השי"ת להעלות בקדש, הרי כל הוספה בעניני טוב וקדושה מוסיפה בברכת השם בכל המצטרך להן ולבני המשפחה שלהן. ובודאי אין מן הצורך להזכיר להן גודל זכותן ויחד עם זה גודל אחריותן שכל אחת מהן היא בת אמותינו שרה רבקה רחל ולאה אשר בנו את בית ישראל.

ובעמדנו בחודש הסגולה, חודש הרחמים והרצון, הרי ימים אלו מסוגלים ביחוד להחלטות ולפעולות טובות בכיוון האמור.

בברכה להצלחה ולבשורות טובות ולכתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה,
