I greet you and bless you,

I am replying to your letter of the 29th of Menachem Av* and to those that preceded it. I am surprised to see that, apparently, you are not seeking a match for your daughter with all the necessary energy. May Hashem bring it about that at least in the future you will devote yourself to this with increased ardor and vigor. Thus will be realized soon: "if you make efforts, you will find"[1].

Regarding the proposals you mention, it matters little which one you begin with, since, from what you write in your letter, you have good information about each of them. To prevent this question from being raised again, you will therefore begin with the one that can be pursued most quickly. It matters little in which Yeshiva* the young man continues his studies, as long as he has fear of Hashem. So that all this may be done even more quickly, this letter is being sent to you by express.

I hope that you received from the Chasid*, Rabbi Ephraim[2], the amount due to you for your sacred mission within the network[3], as a compensatory salary, as well as the monthly salary we had discussed during your visit here. You will therefore let me know the balance we still owe you.

You will deduce from what has just been said that the plan to come here on a visit with your son does not suit me. On the contrary, you will intensify your sacred activities within the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* network, near whose tomb your names will be mentioned. You will redouble your efforts to find a match for your daughter, as well as regarding what I have spoken to you about on many occasions — concerning your own situation. I mean that you yourself must also become engaged, that is quite obvious. With my blessing for success, as well as to be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year,

במענה למכתבו מכ"ט מנ"א והקודמיו,

לפלא שכנראה התעסקותו בשידוך עבור בתו תחי' אינה במרץ הדרוש, ויהי רצון שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יעשה בזה בתוספת מרץ ותוספת עוז, ויקויים יגעת ומצאת ובקרוב.

בנוגע להצעות אודותן כותב, אין נ"מ כ"כ באיזו מהן יתחיל, כיון שכנראה ממכתבו הידיעות אודות כ"א מהן טובות הנה. ובכדי למנוע שאלה עוה"פ בזה, הנה יתחיל בזו שהיא מעשיית בהקדם. ואין נוגע כ"כ באיזו ישיבה לומד ובלבד שיהי' ירא שמים וכו'.

ובכדי לזרז הענין עוד יותר נשלח מכתב זה מהיר ודחוף.

התקוה אשר קבל מהרה"ח וכו' וכו' מו"ה אפרים שי' הסכום על חשבון המגיע לו בעד עבודתו בקדש בעניני הרשת בתור שכר בטלה, וסכום חדשי כפי שדברנו בעת ביקורו כאן. ובודאי יודיע החשבון כמה עוד מגיע לו.

מכל האמור מובן שהסברה לבקר כאן ביחד עם בנו שי' וכו' אינה נראית לי, ואדרבה יוסיף בפעולותיו בקדש ברשת אהלי"י אשר על ציונו יזכירום; ויוסיף במרץ בשידוך עבור בתו שתחי', וכן במה שדברתי אתו כמה וכמה פעמים בנוגע הסתדרותו בעצמו, כוונתי בענין שידוך וק"ל.

ובודאי שיש די זמן ומרץ להתעסק בכל האמור בבת אחת, ובפרט אשר עבודתו בקדש בארץ הקדש מסייעתו, ואצפה לבשורות טובות.
