To the students of the class of Rabbi Shabtai Alperin[1],
I greet you and bless you,
I have received, with pleasure, your letter of the 8th of Elul, in which you inform me of the organization of your studies. No doubt you will redouble your enthusiasm and ardor in the study of our Torah, Torah of life — a study that leads to action[2], to the practice of Mitzvot* in the best manner, of which it is said: "One shall live by them"[3]. First and foremost, the essential point: it is a divine Commandment to know elevation in the domain of holiness[4]. Moreover, each addition in this area also expands Hashem's blessing. Indeed, the Torah and the Mitzvot are the channels and receptacles for obtaining this blessing of Hashem in all one's needs.
May Hashem bring it about that you advance from strength to strength[5] in what has just been said, and that you be a source of true satisfaction for your parents and your teachers. On the occasion of the new year that arrives, for us and for all of Israel, for good, I address to each of you and to the members of your family my blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, both materially and spiritually. With my blessing for success, as well as to give me good tidings,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבם מיום ח' אלול, בו כותבים על דבר סדר לימודיהם.
ובודאי יוסיפו בהתמדה ושקידה בלימוד תורתנו תורת חיים, לימוד המביא לידי מעשה, קיום המצות בהידור, עליהן נאמר וחי בהם. שנוסף על העיקר שהוא ציווי השי"ת להעלות בקדש, הרי כל הוספה בזה מוסיפה גם בברכת ה', כיון שהתורה והמצוות הן הצנורות וכלים לקבלת ברכות השי"ת בכל המצטרך.
ויהי רצון שילכו מחיל אל חיל בהאמור ויהיו מקור נחת אמתי להוריהם ומוריהם שיחיו.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני שולח לכל אחד ואחד מהם ובני משפחתם שי' ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
