To Mrs. Geulah Cohen[1],

I bless you and greet you,

I have duly received your letter and I thank you for it. You write to me that, for various reasons, you will begin writing — concerning what we discussed[2] — after Rosh Hashana*. Of course, this delay is regrettable, as everything good should be realized as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, since, on your end, you have admitted the principle of this delay, I hope at least that you will be given the means to write with all the seriousness necessary for such a subject and all the development that is required.

Furthermore, from what one can see in the press, a positive development is being observed in certain circles regarding the question of birth rates. May Hashem therefore bring it about that the same be true among parents in our Holy Land.

In these propitious days, I conclude by wishing you to be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year. With my blessing for success, as well as to give me good tidings,

הנני מאשר בתודה קבלת מכתבה בו כותבת אשר מכמה סיבות תתחיל בכתיבה ע"ד הענין המדובר אחר ראש השנה.

ואף על פי שכמובן חבל על העיכוב בזה, כי הלא בכל דבר טוב יפה שעה אחת קודם, אבל תקותי שכיון שמצדה ויתרה שיהי' באיחור זמן, יתנו לה האפשריות לכתוב בהתאם לכל רציניות הנושא ובהרחבה הדרושה.

ובפרט על פי הנראה מהעתונות הנה בחוגים מסויימים ניכר שינוי לטוב ביחס לענין הילודה, ויהי רצון שיהי' כן גם אצל האבות והאמהות בארצנו הקדושה.

ובעמדנו בימי רצון אלו אחתום באיחולי כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה.
