To the distinguished members of the kehilla* and leaders of the Agudas Achim shul, of Arizal* rite, in Rochester, may Hashem grant them long life[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I was pleased to receive news of you, and likewise I received your participation in the Maamad fund[2]. It has duly been transmitted, and enclosed you will find the receipt.

I was very satisfied to learn that this amount should be considered not only as a financial participation, but also as the expression of your wish to take part in this immense and grandiose work, which was founded and led by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and even more, which is still led at the present hour in the spirit of his directives.

Nevertheless, in order for this mission to be carried out successfully, it must receive the help of all those who appreciate its value, and particularly of the persons who, in one way or another, had the pleasure of being in relation with my father-in-law, the Rebbe. Those, of course, must feel the obligation and the importance of participating in the strengthening of all that he created and led.

There are two means of bringing one's contribution: financially or through physical participation. I hope that you will opt for both at once, and your contribution, to which I alluded above, is the most striking proof that this is indeed the case.

As our Sages emphasize in the Mishna, one must show generosity toward others. You will therefore exert a positive influence on the circle of your friends and acquaintances by drawing them closer to these accomplishments, for which my father-in-law, the Rebbe, gave of his own person.

On the occasion of Pesach*, which is approaching, I wish you all, as well as the members of your family, a kosher and joyous festival.

בעונג קבלתי הפ״ש מכם ,כמו גם את השתתפותכם בקופת מעמד,

שנמסרה ,ומצו״ב הקבלה.

הי׳ לי נעים מאוד להוודע ,שהנזכר לעיל יכול להחשב לא רק

כהשתתפות בכסף ,אלא גם כסימן של נטילת חלק והתאחדות עם העבודה

הגדולה והמסועפת מאוד ,שנוסדה ונוהלה ע״י כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר

זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע ,וממשיכה להתנהל גם הלאה ברוח שהוא ציין.

אך כדי שיהי׳ אפשר להמשיך בעבודה העצומה חייבים שתהי׳ עזרה

מכל אלה שיש להם רגש בנחיצות הגדולה של עבודה כזו ,ובפרט כל אלה

שהיתה להם הזכות ,באיזה אופן שיהי׳ ,להיות בקשר עם כ״ק מו״ח

אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע ,וחשים בשל כך בפשטות את החוב והזכות

לסייע בהמשכת כל הענינים שהוא יסד וניהל.

העזרה יכולה להנתן בשני אופנים :עזרה באמצעות כסף ועזרה

באמצעות השתתפות אישית בעבודה .תקותי ,שעזרתכם תהי׳ בשני

האופנים ,וההשתתפות האמורה היא סימן בטוח לכך ,ולפי מאמר חז״ל

במשנה ,שתהי׳ עינו טובה בשל אחרים ,יראה כל אחד להשפיע על חוג

ידידיו ומכריו ,לקרב אותם לכל הענינים עבורם כ׳יק מו״ח אדמו״ר

זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע השקיע כל כך הרבה מסירת נפש.

לקראת חג הפסח הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ,הנני מאחל

לכולכם עם ב״ב שיחיו פסח כשר ושמח.
