What is the daily Chitas (Chumash, Tanya, Tehillim) study cycle and why learn it?

The daily Chitas study cycle includes Chumash (Torah), Tanya, and Tehillim (Psalms) [1]. Studying Chumash with Rashi's commentaries is considered essential, as they are the select interpretations of our Sages [2]. While the importance of Chumash and Tehillim is often understood, the Tanya is included to help one regard themselves as if they had come out of Egypt each day, releasing the divine soul from the body's confinement [1], [4]. The study of Talmud and Chassidus (like Tanya) are both imperative and mutually enriching, as an ignorant person cannot be a chassid [3].
